Many aftermarket 'performance' bearings achieve high spin times by loosening tolerances. This looks cool on Instagram, but under actual fishing conditions, that slop compromises performance and ruins the retrieve feel. There is a misconception that "louder and faster on the table" means better on the water. We disagree. We use NMB stainless bearings because they are the gold standard of precision engineering. They are quiet, consistent, and smooth under load. Ceramics are only useful for fishing saltwater where environmental conditions warrant their use.
